Exploring Interactive YouTube
We’re accustomed to using YouTube for almost anything at all, from the latest movie trailers and Lady Gaga stunts, to ‘how to hack pet society on Facebook’. But did you know of the lesser used features, YouTube is empowered for – such as the interactive functions that turn the one-sided viewing into a ‘piano on-demand’ or any other instrument for that matter. Smartly made using the annotation features, it plays along the timeline of the video, allowing designated buttons to pull you back or forth into the timeline of the video for a chosen ‘effect on demand’.
For the savvy ones who have probably seen one of these on Instrumentube, we cross our fingers that you’ve seen the YouTube Radio. If you have, then we can only hope for the best that you haven’t played on the Video Game Video.
Anyhow, have a click or two at the web’s top interactive YouTube videos and don’t let anyone tell you YouTube is boring.
Tip: allow video to load fully before messing around.

Vouchies Sing-Along
We all had our fair share of K-box-ing, Shower Serenades, and Void-Deck Wedding Sing-alongs, stretching those vocal chords and belting out songs after songs only we ourselves can appreciate. But have you ever tried singing along side strangers, grooving to evergreen songs and classic tunes in what seems like an unrehearsed, uninhibited, spontaneous display of vocal exhibitionism? And all these captured live and in real time on a large outdoor screen!
Initiated by Vouchies.com and in collaboration with the Moviemob crew, we invite one and all, young and old, for an evening night-out of star-gazing, movie-screening and yes, mass-singing!
So You make it happen – live (and sing) the experience; share the love and spread the word amongst friends and family – everyone is encouraged to video-capture their moments of ‘fame’ and upload these videos via YouTube and Facebook (Moviemob group page and Vouchies fan page respectively).
Definitely an experience not to be missed, the general public will sing live in front of the large Moviemob screen with the aid of subtitles for three sing-along songs. To enhance this singing experience, wireless microphones will be passed around, and Moviemobbers are encouraged to sing aloud whilst having the music blasted and transmitted via their FM radio in their vehicles. Through a live feed, roving cameras will capture the mass sing-along session on the screen as well.
Get your fix and join us at “a soon to be announced location” at MovieMob for some free glass-shattering love in numbers!

Vouchies Getting a Revamp
We know that some of you might be wondering what is happening with Vouchies.com? Here’s the low down on what’s been happening and what is going to happen and we hope that you stick with us as we have lots planned up for the future.
As a team, we’ve been cracking out heads on ways to ensure that Vouchies stands true to it’s brand of prompting people to try something different. With the avalanche of other deal a day websites in Singapore and worldwide, we decided that we should ramp up our efforts to create something a unique for everyone that is true to our mission. It has always been our plan to invent and create new and different experiences for everyone to try. It was never supposed to be just the deal and the “discount”. We thought that we had at least 6 months to slowly progress to our intended goals but alas it made more sense to revamp the site now to get the best experience for everyone right from the start.
That is where we are at right now. We are revamping Vouchies.com and not just the design (clap clap for everyone who gave inputs) but the items that will be featured and how we will be featuring things on the new site that will be more engaging. Our targeted relaunch date is on the 1st of Aug 2010 and we welcome everyone to come and give us your feedback and input.
We really want to create a platform that will encourage everyone to step out of the comfort zone and enable everyone to do so easily. Join us as we go on this journey of discovery together.
Brainfreeze on Holy Grail
We aren’t kidding when we title our entry something like this.
Some days back, we were checking out the newly opened retail outfits at Resorts World, Sentosa, and chanced upon the 2nd outlet of Seventh Heaven.
We spotted a REALLY amusing item on the menu, called the ‘Holy Grail’.
It’s a challenge to finish 30 scoops of ice cream in 25mins, and if you do, you get it FREE (worth $68). If you can’t, then of course, you foot the bill.
We thought it was impossible, knowing that there were challengers who tried and failed. Not till we saw this.
And he completed this feat in 21 minutes! Oh golly, just looking at it makes our tongue stiff.
Seventh Heaven, however, is otherwise a really comfortable ambience for hang out and good desserts. Specialising in their alcoholic range of flavours, you’d see unusual combinations such as Chocolate Whiskey, Chocolate Cabernet, Apple Chardonnay, Dark Cherry Merlot, just to name a few. Of course, worth a mention are their thick and gooey renditions of the Mudpie, which was a good ol’ chunk of Chocolatey goodness.
So, back to the challenge.
WHO’S GAME TO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT FOR A FREEZING CHANGE?
A slice of rainbow
Cupcakes are yesterday and Birthday cakes are just plain boring. That’s not till you’ve tried Allamanda’s Rainbow Cake.
Crowning glories in technicolour
There’s something about hair – the crowning glory of the lady and fatal attraction to the men.
As much as how a good hairdo can make or break your style, it’s also statistically proven to be one of the top 3 head-turning factors for both men and women alike.
So why not try something different with your hair today and turn some heads (while you can afford to).

The Book Travelling Experiment
A modern “Message in a bottle” affair is now here for all your enjoyment. We’ve created this experiment as an experiment on the power of sharing good ol fashion books.
The next time you take a train ride or have that Starbucks coffee, keep a lookout for a book that shows on its cover “Help! I want to travel!” . This book prompts you to share it after reading and registering online by passing the book on or leaving it somewhere where somebody else might pick it up. Once the next person picks up your book and registers it, you get a reward from Vouchies.com $5 cash voucher for spending online.
Book sharing was originally carried out between small, like minded communities to encourage reading and make the book worth every penny spent. The “Adventures of the travelling book” experiment carried out by group buying site, Vouchies.com, aims to let one discover the joy of sharing books and following their journeys. Vouchies.com has a tracking system to document the 300 books used and each book is also assigned with a unique code for identification purposes.
The findings of this experiment will be analysed after 3 months from date of circulation. Based on the number of books being actively circulated and the distance travelled, Vouchies.com will conclude on the effectiveness of this experiment and how much people are willing to share good things like books and interesting ideas.
So join us if you pick up a book, don’t be selfish and share the love!
